October 2nd, 2012

We kicked off the month with a couple cookouts. The 1st one was at Grandma & Grandpa McCoy’s. We had a great time and it was nice to see everyone. Judy broke her tibia and is in a boot, but that didn’t stop her. We had a good laugh over how she broke her foot and was in a boot 5 years ago. The next day we went to our neighbors for a cookout and had a good time there as well. On Labor day we went to the zoo and went to the Australian and African exhibits. The following weekend we met up with my mom and brother to do the Prostate Cancer Walk (Dash for Dads) and we kicked off our vacation. Martin started preschool at the same time so we can a combination of preschool and vacation that week. We went to the Cleveland Zoo and saw some new animals. I think the biggest hit were the giraffes. We also went camping in Hocking Hills where we did a LOT of walking. It was great weather we we all had a ton of fun. We wen to the zoo again this with with Uncle Tracy, Aunt Rebecca, and Isabel. The kids really had a lot of fun playing together.
Brett and the boys helped me celebrate my birthday by giving me some time to do whatever I wanted, I went shopping, and I got steak for dinner, and chocolate chip cookie bars for desert. Great Grandma DeGroot also had her 90th birthday this month. We ended the month by going up to Grandma & Grandpa McCoy’s and making applesauce it was a great day and we now have a LOT of applesauce. YUM!!!
Martin is very excited about going to school. He even gets little homework assignments each Friday that he is very serious about doing. This month he learned about the letter A & B as well as the numbers 0, 1, 2. Each week Martin gets to bring in something to share based on the theme of the week and he gets to bring in snack at least once a month. Brody just keeps growing and growing, his comical side is really starting to blossom as well as his stubborn side. He will sing the ABC song now and he loves to do just about anything that his big brother does.
Earlier in the month Brett was in a 3 car accident. He is ok, but did suffer from whiplash. I thank God that he is ok and wasn’t seriously hurt!
And the hunt is on for a new sitter for the boys. This makes for 4 in 2.5 years….I would like to find a sitter and be able to stick with them please.
