September 2010

September 25th, 2010

It’s hard to believe fall is upon us once again. It’s even harder to imagine that 1 year ago things were so much different than they are right now. Martin was on the verge of being 2, Brody was still developing organs, and my grandpa was still with us.  Time really does fly, and it seems to move faster once your babies start growing up.

We took the boys up to Wellington for the Engine show. Martin was thrilled with all of the tractors and motorcycles that he got to see. We also went to the Popcorn Festival in Marion. Martin got to ride rides for the very 1st time and had a blast! We are busy planning Martin’s 3rd birthday party and Brody has officially started scooting and has gotten up on his hands and knees. We are on to October and birthdays and Halloween!

A Poem

September 8th, 2010

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be

So he put his arms around and whispered “come with me”

With tearful eyes I watched you, and saw you pass away.

Although I loved you dearly, I could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest.

God broke my heart to prove to me, he only takes the best.

My Heart is Forever Broken

September 8th, 2010

On August 30th, my grandpa Kenneth Alton Farnsworth Jr, lost his 9 year battle with cancer. He died peacefully surrounded by his wife and children. The funeral was Friday 9/3/2010 and was a nice service. A fitting way to send off such a wonderful man. I grew up 2 houses down from my grandparents and if I wasn’t at home, I was at my grandparents’ house. Grandpa had a big booming voice and a big booming laugh (which you heard often) and he had strong arms that wrapped you up and held you tight. I called them my special bear hugs (even though he gave them to everyone). The sun doesn’t seem to shine quite as bright now that my grandpa has passed away. The world was definitely a better place with him in it. Love you grandpa! You will always be in my heart.
