August 2012

September 2nd, 2012

We kicked off the month with an impromptu trip to the zoo and vacation bible school. We went to Stingray Bay for the 1st time and it was great being able to touch the rays. Martin even got to feed them. I led the games this year for VBS and I had so much fun playing with the kids and reinforcing the lesson of the week: “No Matter what: Trust God.” I made a lot of new little friends and I hope to see them in Sunday School this fall. Martin also had a good time doing crafts, singing songs, and of course playing games. Brody joined us the last 2 nights and he had a ton of fun. It was an exhausting week rushing home from work and then rushing to VBS, but well worth it! We also decided to take a trip to Slate Run Historical Farm. The boys’ favorite part was getting to milk a cow. We also got to see a 4 day old calf and the beekeeper was busy getting honey from the hives.
Brody had his bi-annual ENT visit to check on his tubes and we received GREAT news! Both tubes have fallen out and he no longer needs to see his ENT doctor. As always we went up to Wellington for Mommypalooza where I get to hang out with my aunts, mom, and grandma and the boys get to do…well….guy things. This year we stayed an extra day and went to the Lorain County Fair. We went through all the animal barns and got to pet some of them. We also rode rides and of course ate fair food. We drove back to Columbus that night. It made for a long day but the smiles on my boys’ faces was worth being exhausted for.
We ended the month with the “Touch A Truck” event in Gahanna where the boys climbed all over the trucks and got stickers! We also attended the baptism of our friends new son and what a blessing it was to witness it. We all went to eat afterwards to celebrate and had a great time. We had a busy month but things won’t slow down any time soon.
